I cut 2' off the bottom of mine to get them down to where I wanted them. Top has a turnout that I didn't want to lose...it was just too tall. Pulled them out of the mufflers, chopped 2' off, and reinserted them. Can't even tell they were modified by looking at the truck.

Interstate overpasses are required to be at least 16 feet above the ground when they're built. These are federal/.Gov and DOT regualations:

    https://safety.fhwa.dot.gov/geometric/pubs/mitigationstrategies/chapter3/3_verticalclearance.cfm
Note the references of where the info in the above article was gotten. The link it self is FHWA (Federal Highway Administration) .gov

Stacks are manufactured to be within those limits. As long as the highest part of the truck is under 15 feet 11 inches you will be fine on all interstates in the US. When you get in to cities and on state routes, local roads that are Routes, city streets, city to city highways (not interstates), that's where height may cause problems. Overpasses in cities are required to have height indication signs within 1000 feet on each side. Watch and read signs.

I do not know when these regulation laws were passed. There may be some old bridges somewhere that were built before these regulations were put in place.

Truck and trailer manufacturers have been making trucks and trailers so they are no more than 13 feet 8 inches high at their highest point for a very long time. The standard is and has been 13'6".

Unless you have extensions on them making them higher somehow if you're under 14 feet high you should be fine just about everywhere. Again, keep an eye out for height signs. Some low over passes in cities and non-interstate roads sometimes have something before them (foam things or something hanging) that if you hit those warning objects...stop and find a way around that overpass.

    You're fine if you're under 13'8".

Mine are stock 5”, I did the same thing. There is about a foot inside the mufflers. That was before buying the conestoga.
