I only have 1 truck these days and I drive it to get away from the office.....I use the excuse that I'm seeing customers and looking for new ones but that's just a terrible lie....I like to escape.
I get to NJ and NY a lot so maybe we can meet and do some business together. I'm always happy to work with new folks and make new friends in the industry.

You guys have a great weekend!

Well it should clean up the industry some the shady brokers won't be able to pay the bond closing their doors to the better brokers so all in all i think this would be a plus on the O/O side.

First, everyone should know that they courts have issued a stay on the bond. FMCSA has pushed forward and as this message is being typed lawyers are in front of the judge informing him that they are ignoring his order. It is going to get interesting.

Now, the bond only relates to the amount of security that is in place to pay a carrier if the broker doesn't pay. It has nothing to do with liability of freight or the single CHR case regarding a broker dispatching like a carrier. Contingent cargo and liability insurance is what is needed for that.

This new bond amount was sold based fighting fraud. What is interesting is that most fraud in this business is committed by people that have no brokerage authority. So if they didn't have the $10k bond I am not sure what the $75k bond is going to do.

While reduced competition is good for me I have been against this from the beginning. Increased government interference for non-safety issues is a waste.

What kind of tractor you have? I run an 1985 359 Pete. I use the same excuse when I gotta get out of the office. Plus when I take the family on vacation we take a load wherever we are going to shake some hands. Yea I live in Nj. Mostly just travel the east coast. All other stuff I send with someone else. What state you out of?

I live in Nashville. Some of our drivers are just plain terrified of NY and NJ so I make it a point to run up there every chance I get. I've made some very fine friends in that area and I always look forward to seeing them.
I'm running an old 379 with a cat and 13 speed. I'm too old and lazy for 2 sticks anymore....LOL.
