I looked into that but heard it just melts through the ice too quick to cool anything down.

On the upside I was issued a 2011 international prostar and it has a bunk ac unit that works without idling. I heard that it eats up batteries though but it seemed to cool good enough.

I have one of those units and it seems to work ok for me. It won't keep the whole cab cold or even cool if its really hot outside, the key is to use a sun shade in ALL the windows and then close the sleeper curtians.
The unit will run for at least 10 hrs on it's btry pack and my truck will idle up to 3 hrs to recharge it!

Read the reviews for that product that are posted elsewhere besides their website. Its cheap but appears to be a waste of money.

Whatever you do, don't do like the guy next to me in his truck. He showed up a couple of hours ago. Parked and rolled the windows down. Left the truck and came back with Wendy's for dinner. He isn't young- he SURE isn't cute and he's not modest either. Right now he's in the driver's seat, in his undershorts with no shirt or pants on with a huge gut and covered with hair, WITH THE SLEEPER LIGHT ON, having another cigarette. On his laptop. Wait a minute, is that... No- it can't be...

    THE TRUCKER'S REPORT ???

Oh PLEASE tell me it isn't so......

I think he wants to "chat" with you.

Maybe he's looking for a "good buddy."

I have had a window ac in the back wall for several years and it cools great but never last more than a year.
Anyone else had luck with them?

I was looking through these comments and as I finished I thought about my father. Pop retired in 93 and passed away in 97. Old school all the way. This man spent his entire career in a cabover. No storage room except for those under the bunk area's. Not meaning to start a fight or create an issue. I just wonder what his comment would be if he could read this thread. On a side note I often think of my father. This guy was a big time gadget freak. One of his sisters as we was walking away turned and looked at my mom and said (redacted) was born 30 years too early. Gosh would my father really enjoy the things today's drivers take for granted. However he would hate the industry in general.
