    I have an air leak "somewhere" that Ive had over 2 years now that I can't find for the life of me....

    Its very slow because I lose about 5 pounds per hour..Takes 12 hours to empty the system when truck is parked. Pretty common.....You can't hear it Or,See it, But its there..Somewhere

    NO, Im not going to personally examine every Line and fitting on the entire truck (All 2,865 of them),So don't ask.

    OP's leak is 1/2 psi per minute. Your allowed what 3 psi per minute on a combo vehicle? His leak is 1/6th what is allowed and is not something super major to worry about. I agree it should be fixed but the leak at that rate doesn't make his truck inoperable.

    That's something you don't see every day.
    Wonder if at the last second he stomped on it trying to make it up the far bank?

    The 3psi per minute you refer to is in the CDL manual and is NOT a requirement, regulation, law or even a suggestion outside the CDL manual. It is merely a hoop to know and jump through in order to obtain a CDL. As a matter of fact, not one air brake test in the CDL manual is a valid test as written for enforcement purposes. In other words, no test in the CDL manual "as written" is valid or complying with federal regulations or the CVSA NASOOSC.
    The enforceable leakage rate is as follows:

    Air Loss Rate
    If an air leak is discovered and either the primary or secondary reservoir pressure
    is not maintained when:
    (396.3(a)(1))
    (1) Governor is cut-in;
    (2) Reservoir pressure is between 80 – 90 psi (551 – 620 kPa);
    (3) Engine is at idle; and,
    (4) Service brakes are fully applied.

    Additionally, "an audible air leak at other than a proper connection. (393.45(a)) is not allowed."

    I am not stating that the leakage rate tests in the CDL manual are bad, as they do offer a means of not only quantifying a leak, but they also help in diagnosing where the problem is. I however am stating that the leakage rates in the CDL manual are not criteria that drivers must abide by and maintain because of any regulations..

    Press the panel light up button while pressing the odometer reset button for approx 10 seconds to temporarily disable the buzzer. Should turn off until pressure builds up again.

    Shop time you go.

    DOT OOS ITEM if you do not have it.

    Quit sitting and getting madder and madder until you either chew nails or quit. Go thee to shop for thine air.
