"Bro... Why are you in my way?!?"

~average four wheeler who doesn't need to let his lessers know his intentions.

All this complaining about the 4 wheelies out there doing stupid stuff, when too many big rig drivers are doing the exact same things.
This problem isn't about a single class of drivers... it is about the mentality of most (or at least too many) drivers in general.

Also All These Newer Vehicles With Speedometers "Stating" 160 MPH and Beyond, so why not run 85 mph PLUS Since it Appears FUEL MILEAGE somehow Increases With Higher Speeds, according to the Vehicle Fuel Mileage Notification System.

I am glad I found this thread. I have learned a couple good points to add to all the others when I am trying to educate 4 wheelers. I would be a liar if I said I was doing it for the 4 wheelers. I see the stupid and dangerous things they do around you everyday. It makes me mad , it makes me embarrassed because I am one of them . Hopefully , No, I know I do have more knowledge than the average 4 wheeler and I have complete respect for you all. I am teaching people , or trying , to have better ways around you . I am thrilled when , I get people to come up to me and say Thank You , I did not realize how I was being dangerous , I didn't know a Driver couldn't see me if I am next to him, or I didn't think about a truck having a blowout and how it would affect me . The (some of them) are not trying to test you , they don't realize you cannot stop fast , and if they jump right ahead of you and step on their brake , they are putting themselves in grave danger. I have to explain it in terms of how it can hurt them . WHY? Because so many people today are pure selfish and they don't care how they affect others. It is slow going , but I figure each person I get to drive safer around you , is maybe saving your life , their life and who knows how many others. I tell them as well , please pass this on to everyone you know , because you SERIOUSLY could be saving lives. I think all of you , are a wonderful breed of human beings , you have the patience of saints. You may be rough and tough when your not driving , but I see you when you are and you put up with so much , too much , more than I think a average human could. You tolerate more than most can even imagine . And that is everyone that is not a Driver or is close to one or has been in and around trucks. You save peoples lives everyday , the same people that put your lives in danger. The 4 wheeler , needs to have a class dedicated to driving around you , and it should be passed by them before they can get a license. , I don't know how but that is my goal. To be able to reach the most 4 wheelers possible . Thank You so much from my heart and soul, I know ,i see i am there , i know what they do and you are amazing people , I love you and i respect admire and appreciate you. You are the best of this world , and I am glad to be in it with you.

Hi , Moose , I think it is worth trying to educate people on how to drive around you , so may don't care and nothing will make them act as they should. But you may be surprised at how many are just not smart enough to figure it out for themselves and when they are made aware many do care and will act safely as they know how. We are not as smart as you give us credit for. Most of us just don't know what they are doing , and education is the answer.

    Sirscrapntruckalot Thanks this.

I have to say that seeing Drivers do the same thing as 4 wheelers , just has not been my experience. Oh , once in a while I may run across a Driver that doesn't fit in with all the others , but it isn't often. I see cars doing things that I am pretty sure they think they are so cool , like look at me! But the only thing they are showing off is their ignorance.

Are you in some third world country with a few roads? Education is mocked by drivers and that includes truck drivers.. they know everything.. The trucks engineering have done a lot to put off a lot of disasters, but it cannot totally prevent them.

Can’t be worse than Nova Scotia. There’s cars down there 25 yrs old that have had the high beams on since they picked it up at the dealer and wiggled that thing sticking out of the steering column and didn’t see anything happen, and the turn signals have never been used.
