Hwy 12 from Lewiston to Lolo is a "must drive" honor badge for any trucker. One of the most beautiful "can't believe I'm getting paid for this" drives in the country.

If it's summer and you're not in a hurry......

    Right, @Long FLD ?

Used to run it multiple times a week in both directions. Even after getting caught in when the road was blocked by an avalanche in 2008 it’s still one of my favorite drives. Lots of good spots to sleep. Lots of good spots to stop and stretch your legs. There’s a one mile loop trail at Colgate Licks that’s nice to kill some time with the dog.

And anyone who thinks 12 is bad has never been on 13 from Kooskia to Grangeville. At least now they have a barrier all the way up Harpster Grade so now if you spin out and slide backwards you don’t have to worry about going over the edge.

We did a job in up on Lolo Cr. out of Kamiah in 2017, the year of the big fire on Lolo pass. Montana permits were a lot less if we brought everything over Lost Trail and then over Lolo, so that's the way we hauled our equipment. I enjoyed it but you didn't want to get in a hurry.

Was it 2017 or 2018 when the lowboy and crane went over the bank on the way up to the bridge project at Fish Creek?

When I first started working for Cliff they didn’t have the barriers along the outside edge. Added a little bit to your decision to chain up or not.
