If someone goes north from denver you get off at Fort collins Colorado and take 287 to Laramie Wy. Then you can take 80 over elk mountain or US30 around elk mountain back onto 80 west. If you know what day you will be driving across elk mountain or Eisenhower tunnel you can look up the weather forcast for that day.

Were it me I would consider going North from Denver on I-25 to Fort Collins, then US287 to Laramie, US30 to Walcot Junction, then I-80 to I-84, to I-15... Then north to Tremonton. -
