loading, unloading (you moving freight on/off the trailer), fueling, and PTI are on-duty, not driving activities. They must be logged as on-duty. Nobody performs those activities as a hobby. They are work. You can work as many hours per day and for every day from now until the end of time. There is no limit to the work you can do. There are 168 hours in a week. If you or your boss wants you to do 168 hours of work this week, it's legal. You just cannot drive until you have at least a 10 hours rest period. Driving it the only activity the HOS regulates. The HOS don't require you sleep, eat, brush your teeth or anything else. The point of the HOS is to make sure you have at least 10 hours of non-work time before you drive. There is another reg that prohibits you from driving if you are fatigued, even if your 70 Hour/8 day clock has just started. You have to comply with all of the regs.
