Assuming for the moment that’s a 5.9 and not a deleted 6.7, to subject a pre-emission engine to that is a travesty. :biggrin_25510:

When i was in the oilfield i had a 6.0 power stroke die on me a few miles after getting fuel. "Are you sure you put diesel in it" yes 100% sure Lol. No gas nozzle on the fuel islands

    EGR cooler?

That's what usually kills the 6.slows.

Once when I lived in Hampton VA after a hurricane everything shut down for a few days. Once the gas station opened the lines were really long but I got in line with the K1500...gas.... And my brother called to check on us right before I got to the pump. I was 10 gallons into it before I noticed the cash amount was wrong and the the realization....
I always thought that diesel nozzles were supposed to be too fat for a gas fill neck... I was wrong.
But the drunk dude in a diesel truck took all the fuel I drained out by unclamping the line and putting it in a 32oz Gatorade bottle. Took awhile but didn't cost me any money except the diesel. The diesel treatment cleaned the whole engine out when it finally stayed running. Don't know how the drunk guy faired since there was a little bit of gas in the diesel he put in his fancy pickup. Maybe driving blitzed to the gas station was a bad idea???
    So...
    Don't talk and fuel.
    Don't drive drunk.
Always keep an empty Gatorade bottle on the floor.

    Numb Thanks this.

Not unless you're trying to fill up at some stupid busy place where there is a line for every pump, in which case you're at the wrong joint to begin with. Around here especially it is commonplace to see light and medium duty rigs using the truck diesel islands because of all the camper haulers. Personally I scoot it down to the far end of the island so nobody is likely to pull in behind me. This also makes it idiot proof as far as putting the wrong stuff in. If you're at an automobile fuel island yes you have pay closer attention to what you are doing.
