What speed is it and please dont say its automatic. Okay that was to be funny . Lol now if you tell us all its a 6+4 then well its legit...
If you've actually been driving for 15 years and still don't know how to shift gears, then I'd say you should find a company that runs trucks with automatic transmissions. There are many of them around, so that shouldn't be difficult
First thing I learned when driving a 6 x 4 was that it wasn't a tri-plex .... and the second thing I figured out was not to get both boxes in neutral at the same time. Those two learning experiences together took maybe 5 minutes.
I have never had the pleasure to try and drive one yet , but I did ride in a 359 a few years back. The guy was telling me there is never a dull moment , and yea he said something about not getting them both in neutral at the same time as well. Lol
Lol I couldn't tell ya what rpm to shift at . Its one of things where you just know. when I went through school they were trying to explain that whole theory . I told the guy its not rocket science stop trying to make it sound like it. Coincidentally he was the one that yelled at me for shifting in turns and not using a clutch. Lmfao
I thought this YouTube video was pretty good "Recovering Lost Gears." The driver covers lots of scenarios: missing upshifts; missing downshifts; forgetting to switch the button from lo to hi and from hi to lo etc etc. Lots of scenarios. It's about 25 minutes long. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ko0jSLtwuro The first time I watched it I thought he was a generous soul to sacrifice his transmission for the sake of instruction. Then at the first of the video it says he borrowed someone else's (a truck school I think) equipment. lol Be interested in knowing if you all think this pretty well covers it or no. Thanks in advance.
Scratch 'em til you match 'em. I wish I had a nickel for every gear I heard scratched at the fuel island in a truck doing exactly 0 inches per light year.
No wonder they're getting to be so many trucks with automatic transmissions. Today those who learn to drive only learn on automatics................................. Sad, I agree, one day there will be nothing but automatic transmission in trucks.
