There's a hiring freeze from May 19 until June 1 while they migrate all of the HR functions to a new program.

It does seem a little odd that they can't figure out how to hire people while they do this, and that it will somehow take two weeks to complete.

Thought I'd pop in for an end of year update.

Freight has picked up a tad but nothing substantial. My barn dropped the number of solo linehaul bids from 70-something down to only 62, increasing the number of solo wild board spots to 26, maintaining 8 team bids and 4 wild teams.

Some solo bid drivers whose bids got cut are encroaching the team board, and with my lowly #90 spot of 108 drivers, I got bumped off my Tulsa bid. Still managed to snag a wild team spot, so my income shouldn't change much but my schedule will become more unpredictable.

Good ole OD. I hear things have changed ALOT over there. I'm hearing it's hard for teams to get miles like it used to be.

Not really. Out of my barn we're not struggling for team freight. September was remarkably slow and there were a couple instances where we sat for an hour or two waiting for trailers to close, but besides that we were dispatched out on time 98 times out of 100. Last year we had 8 team bids and 2 wild teams, now we've added 2 more wild teams. So team freight isn't a concern, it's more the solo freight that's a concern.

My barn rebids every 12, but I've heard of some doing it every 6.

Sometimes they rebid when the runs change....added / deleted. Which I think this may be the case.
