i am just double checking because i was told by many that it is possible to do cdl testing in different state and get cdl in home state. So i had permit from NY and went down to FL to do training and then testing, Fl does not need you to have FL address and they accept all permits (it is new rule so if you did not know). So I did testing in Pre trip inspection, parking and road test and passed all of it. Now i am going to NY Dmv office and i am expecting that they will give me CDL without problem anyone has experience like mine?
I got my cdl in Missouri showed it to the dmv when I got home to Florida and they issued me a Florida license...don't know if all states are that easy..but call your dmv.
thanks, yes Florida is super easy in it. New York is bit harder in every aspect, just contacting them is not easy
Get a CDL To apply for a Commercial Driver License (CDL), you must have a NYS driver license (Class D, Class E, or Non-CDL C) or a valid CDL from another state. http://dmv.ny.gov/get-cdl
This rule I know, but I have different situation. I have NYc driver licence, I have NYC cdl learner's permit and Florida put my name in the system that I passed all testing in Florida.
