I'm in the lines too. I just use two slots.

    Don't tell my wife.

He still ran into you however maybe when it comes to insurance they make appropriate a certain percentage of the blame to you for like you said being over the line, most of the blame does go to him cause he's supposed to be looking when he's backing. Whats to say he still wouldn't of hit your trailer even if it was parked with in the square?

When you have a normal truck instead of a short wheel base short hood aero parking inside the rear line is not always an option. Doing that leaves my front end sticking 5 feet out to far. It comes down to the lessor of two evils, the trailer sticking over the line is much better than sticking the hood out into the driving lane.

I'm with you. I also have been in those situations. My comment was more about this fault thing some people get hung up on. In some places courts can assign partial fault. I have seen several times where contributing reasons hung someone. Most of the time is is when a driver (non CDLs too) is speeding it can be proven they were and someone pulls out in front of them. I seen a case like this go south on a carrier near my hometown in Georgia.

Yes but you have that risk no matter what. Id rather risk the back of my trailer getting hit than my hood. That way in case the partial fault thing comes into play, the damage to the trailer will be thousands less than a new hood grill and bumper.

But then you have the times the freight over hangs. I'm waiting for a video of me to appear on here by scottie so people can complain I'm taking up 2 spots. With an over length load i will always try to grab a corner spot in the back row so my over hang is over the grass and i can go straight out in the morning, but if that won't work i absolutely will park right in the middle of two spots. In a perfect world i could pull all the way up to make room for a bobtail but you just can't trust the average van/reefer not to try to fit his 53 where there is clearly only 40 feet of space.

One of the biggest problems in today's trucking world is trying to operate a 53 footer in an area with an infrastructure designed for MUCH shorter trailers. <<fact!

I disagree. The problem isn't the trailer length. The problem is the lack of brain power of the operator leading him to try to fit 53 feet in 40 feet of space. If it was really the trailer length then all those over length loads would be getting in accidents nearly every day.

If that announcer did that for a basketball, he would be dead before halftime.
