right on the corner at the intersection of hollowell parkway and fulton industrial bottom of the hill from the petro. the ride over there from the railyard on northwest Marietta to heartless is certainly somewhere I wouldn't want to have the misfortune of breaking down.

hasn't been a good weekend. I'm ready to get back in the truck and go to clear my head.

lost one of the dogs this weekend and it was senseless. we've been having a developing issue with the little pit mix where once or twice a year she snaps on one of the other dogs for some reason. we never were able to notice a trigger or anything that precipitates it. it's just a random and rare thing. yesterday she snapped on the border and went after her and as I usually do I got in between them to break it up. she got me on the forearm and got me good. she didn't go after me specifically she was in that zone and my arm was there. I knew the risk and I accept the responsibility for what happened.

several stitches on both sides of my forearm later I had to surrender her to the shelter. by now they've already put her down. I'm heartbroken. I feel in some way I let the dog down. I rescued her to start with. to have to turn her over goes against every fiber of my being and everything I believe in. I know in the big picture it had to be done but that in no way makes me feel any better about it. I'm just not in a good place over the whole thing.

I had called animal control to come get her and they were absolutely useless. did nothing. transferred me to the local PD who filed a report and said animal control would follow up Monday. #### good thing for those useless POS sob's I won't be here tomorrow. It wouldn't go well for them to see me face to face. I wanted to avoid having to take her and surrender her myself. it wasn't a good scene and I knew it wouldn't be. I love that dog no matter what. the wife has been instructed to not even go to the door if the worthless ####### comes to the house tomorrow. he better sure have the good judgment NOT to call me.

I guess I'm gonna be doing some old school reach over and shift with my left hand for a few days and awkwardly do everything else as well since I've barely got use of my right arm or hand. I can barely move my arm. they gave me some really good pain meds but I'm gonna have to leave them home there's no way I can take them in the truck.

@flyingmusician, just read this. Wow. Very sorry for your loss. Can't imagine how hard that must have been. I remember her from the pics you posted. She was a cutie.

Sorry you went thru that. It wasn't senseless. The unfortunate thing about the breed is the popularity with unsavory types that inbreed them too much and some can't be fixed with any amount of love and care. Count your blessings it was a bite on your arm that will heal in short order, and not one of your other dogs or a neighbor kid. Good on you for doing the right thing for the pit mix.
