I was working for an owner operator at the time and she normally paid me from her checking account but she had been delayed payment from some of the trips (brokers conveniently poking their #####) so she paid me half in a regular check and the other one she paid off the fleet one account. I just turned in the receipt for the check fee with my next trip to get reimbursement.

I told her she could have just waited to pay me the rest next week but she insisted. She was a good lady to work for.

The only reason I'm not driving for her is the truck blew it's transmission and put her and her husband out of business.

Marcos and Melissa have a special place in heaven as far as I'm concerned. They really took care of me when I worked for them.

She still dispatches for the company they leased to.

If I ever won the lottery, I'd buy them a Freightliner Coronado glider. Marcos knew the 12.7L Detroit in and out.

His daytime job is a mechanic for Central/PAM in El Paso.

They gave me a shot when I got back on the road when no one else would. :)

And to think Swift rejected me. :D

    Nice...

    image.jpeg

This week happens to be Chili week...

    image.jpeg

Don't mind the orange slivers... Unless you're a lightweight to spicy.

In the event that you are a lightweight...run. Fast. Far away. Because these spell your certain doom.

(A cookie goes to the person that can put a name to the Orange slivers.)

    And now, we cook. Slowly.

By the way... @Rocks this Chili is safe for you! :D

Now, while this cooks nice and slow... I'll be fixing my fridge.
