We are back in action. Had to bobtail 450 miles from Dallas,TX to Emporia,KS to repower a driver that hit a deer. Taking that load to Ontario, CA.

Pete and the rest of the east coast crew.....good news.....I-35 service areas in Kansas has Dunkin Donuts. Love when Team Duo can get a good cup of joe. :occasion5:

Blu_Ogre, whatever you do.....don't buy your wife's present from a truck stop. I speak from experience. Wife is still mad at me for buying her a trucker wife tshirt from Pilot for her birthday.

    at the westar in cowpens

had one of those 'why do I do this if I really don't have to?' days today. really killed it today. burned up 10:47 on the clock and got a whole 132 miles to show for it. 3.5hrs to unload at the beer place this morning. already knew it'd be a ##### been there before. oe of those places that wants it yesterday but ties you up for hours and all over the wall in huge letters in 10 different places I the little 10X10 receiving cubicle is signs saying 'you must leave our property immediately once unloaded' I tested them once lol 4 minutes after I closed the doors the guy was rapping on my door telling me I was done there I needed to leave now. and we all know how much parking there isn't in and around charlotte.

got a load out of concord. got loaded up fairly quickly but I pull away from the dock to strap in the load and it's those bulk liquid containers full of pigment for benjiman moore. nowhere in the load assignment did it specify and i wasn't allowed on the dock during loading. if you haven't kept up with the rule change from last year those containers over 119 gal and over 1000 gal aggregate volume require a tank endorsement. even in a van. I have haz but not tank. not really something you need hauling furniture lol. backhaul said they didn't know when they booked it. call safety to verify I'm correct on the regs and that blows another 1.5 while they figure out what to do. found a guy 180 away with the endorsement so had to sit and wait on him to get there to swap it. tick tick tick goes the clock. he gets there and I get Spartanburg to Memphis. it's 1430 now and it was supposed to pick up at 1400 and be in Memphis at 0900 tomorrow. in what world I wonder? not in the 65mph elog truck with 5 hours left world it doesn't lol

30 miles away she calls and says they stop loading at 1530. it's 1530

so they rebook it and said be there 0800 and we'll work out an new delivery appt. so here I sit. at least I have good tv signal here.

I would have just pulled that first load.....it was only 30k and who's going to be looking for a tank load in an Ashley truck? but for the fact it was dropping and relaying in Atlanta and I had no idea who was going to run with it and the wrong one would have pitched a hissy fit and i'd have really gotten jammed up over it so I had to go by the book.

even though the day was annoying from the word go I took it with (outward lol ) professionalism and patience and knew they'd make it right when it came time to pay and they did. I'm getting a layover, an additional drop, and another live supplemental added to the trip since none of the screw-ups were mine. I won't come up too much short of what I should have made for the day.

but it sure tried my patience

funny how women are so different from one to the other. my wife saw one of those shirts the first time she went out with me and had to have the whole set. I haven't told her there are 2 more now but she's going out with me in another 2-3 weeks and she'll see them and have to have them lol
