do these companies with mutiple trailers track who is dropping POS for the next guy? I suppose that be too much to ask
Schneider doesn't even know where all their trailers are. In this day and age GPs trackers on every trailer is too expensive when drivers are micromanaged?

They can but don't. This was a big reason I left Epes. Multiple times a week I'd get bad tires, lights, tags or inspections months out of date, any number of issues on trailers that had been dumped by a driver for the next guy to deal with. Several of us pushed hard for a long time for some kind of accountability program and the bs answer was they couldn't do that.

Of course they could. They knew who had each trailer on which load. All it would take is a little work and holding people accountable which they didn't want to do. They had those of us who they knew wouldn't pull them and would fix them. I'd red tag trailers when I came in on Friday that were due Monday delivery and they'd still be there when I left Monday. More than once I saw guys rip the red tags off and roll with them and nothing was ever said.

I just got tired of doing it. Haven't had that problem once with Ashley. Not one bad tire or light or anything else.

I picked up an empty from UPS in Mesquite, TX that had a broken rear wing. I called the shop manager to report it. It came from QVC in Rocky Mount. The driver who dropped it claimed he dropped it undamaged at QVC but when their security reviewed the security camera at the gate, it showed the damaged wing as the trailer entered their yard.

As soon as they get about a dozen more I say we start a petition to get rid of Logs. Both Paper and Elogs, since they have us on film ( from several angles too ) logs are just a third or fourth layer of superfluous recording. Mr. DeMille ...... I'm not ready for my Closeup now ... and I won't ever be. [IMG]
