USX started putting GPS trackers on all their trailers second half of 2014. Before then it was a real pain in the ### to find an empty. A lot of drivers would forget to do the proper macro to let the company know where they dropped the trailer. My trainer and I spent almost 24 hours driving around Atlanta for a trailer once. The company has over 14,000 trailers I believe so it'll be a while before all of their trailers get GPS tracking.....that is if they can find'em. :blah5:

Hate when drivers don't do a pre/post-trip. This company says they'll fix anything, no matter how small it is. They'll even send someone to change a lightbulb but drivers will still run with something messed up and leave it for the next guy. Problem is that they'll never punish the guys who do.

That's one of the reasons I like doing the Ceva dedicated. Ceva has an outside trailer repair company at most of their terminals from 9am-5pm Monday thru Friday. They don't even wait for a guy to report a problem. They check each one down the line. It's not a perfect system but better than nothing. Even with these guys around....drivers still will not report a problem. Ticks me off.

Would love to line these drivers up and...

Picked up from Elk Grove, IL and on our way to Aurora, Co. Next load going to Dallas picks up Monday night so guess we'll be hanging out at the Flying J/Walmart for the day.

In my previous life when I pulled Landstar trailers around for the better part of 8 years the same stuff went on.......Sometimes the GPS tracker worked sometimes it did not..

Shouldn't be too hard to figure out who pulled this trailer last since it is dedicated to the Federal Mogul account..... That is if they want to:biggrin_2552:

You would think this kind of stuff wouldn't happen at Landstar. :biggrin_25513:

Exactly one of my problems with Landstar trailers. Dropped a trailer in WV . 2 days later get a call from the agent "did you deliver, customer says they can't find it. And tracker has a last hit of over 2 years ago." Gave them security guard that signed the bills name and emp#.

Agent said about half the LS trailer trackers they look at are non functional.

Makes you think what Landstar is doing with their money. It's not like they have to buy/fix tractors. :biggrin_25524:

Trucks parked in Stafford, Tx across from reciever. I'm parked at the laundry mat with the daughter. Was teaching her how to drive the car around industrial park. I tilt my hat to all the trainers. Think I'll leave the training to drivers Ed instructor.
