Good luck RB. We will all be rooting for you. Take some snacks on the bus ride up there. The stops can GH makes can be expensive depending on where you stop.

The Millington academy was great! I just went through it, I spent 2 weeks in Millington and my third week in Ocala, Fl. Wade is the trainer in Ocala and he took us up to Gainesville for our dot test and all 3 of us passed. I just got home today and I go back to Ocala for orientation on the 18th. When you get to Millington tell Doug, Gary and Dee that Mike from class 747 said hi. They're a great group of trainers just listen to what they say, and don't get intimidated by Gary or Doug. They look and sound like real hardasses but they're really great guys. Good luck to you.

Good evening folks ,
I decided to go with Swift after being bombarded by other carriers .. I am currently taking classes in a Trucking school in my home state .. It may have cost me some cash , but as far as I can tell they do a top notch job at it I'll be testing out some time this week with a freight super ten then on the 18th if all goes well I'll be heading to the New Boston terminal for the big O -
Sorry I haven't updated in a while, I did not realize how long this was going to take. I have been out with my mentor now for 3 weeks, and things are going well. I have 95 more hours with him until I go take my final road test and get my tractor. Unfortunately, I am training on a dedicated route, so I do not see much of the country; however, I get some really good experience driving in the city and backing.
My friends OTR have about 1/4 of the backs I have so this account has its perks I guess. Plus my JIT flag is now Y so I can take the time sensitive loads.
So far, my trips have been to Miami and Atlanta for the most part. Running about 4000 - 5000 miles a week with my mentor having to drive very little.
I am just glad he is teaching me instead of having me for a log book.
So far, I cannot complain one bit. I think I like this career more than I thought I would. Just cant wait to go OTR to see more of the country. That is, unless I find a teammate to run this Target dedicated with me. I will keep you all updated after I get off the mentor's truck under a new thread about my adventures.Texas-Nana and bikegoon Thank this. -
Good decision!
