In my earlier post where I said they try to blow your ego up that's what happened to all there local drivers they all think there crap don't stink. I remember driving down the road and seeing another driver we'd wave at each other and go on then I'd pass a local driver and they'd turn there nose up at you. But I do know that local drivers stay local drivers it almost impossible to get local at averitt unless one of there drivers turns 100 years old and finally dies. At least that's how it was at there tri cities yard in kingsport tn
When i was there they made us fuel at their terminals thus no shower credits. When you were at a terminal with a shower it was cold and nasty.. When i would get fuel the terminal managers would not allow TL drivers to even wash their windshields with their stuff because they said it hurt their bonuses. They put elogs in the TL trucks to get the DOT off their backs because of all the fatals the ltl division had.
I was with First Fleet and didn't stay long because of small paychecks and the overall culture of Averitt/First Fleet/First Express. I'd work for Carolina Cargo before any of those 3.
New drivers get good miles. As I got my raises my mileage consistently went down. They give holidays off. The way to get good miles is taking LTL loads by TL to the service centers. When the service centers are close due to the holidays it gets even worse.
I was simply stating my exact experience at Averitt Express as it happened.. I could give much more information but i dont have the time. It was a horrible experience..
He speaks the truth. I started using the better flying j showers after I figured out how to fuel there and get credits.
I am absolutely sure that it was 100% Averitt. Kind of like a bad marriage, two sides to every story.
