Knock on the doors of the LTL freight companies. But right now, it is the wrong time of the year. Freight is slowing down and probably will not pick back up until around Feb. But I know when I was with Overnite(UPS Freight), they would hire "off the street" and if the person showed an interest in becoming a driver, Overnite would trained them. I trained several men while I was with Overnite.

LTL is picking up; people shopping online is creating more LTL/package freight than expected. Looks like the trend of the future.

It is the "peak season" for UPS and FedEx, but the freight companies, such as UPS Freight or Estes or FedEx Freight, are already slowing down. And after Christmas, UPS and FedEx will be looking to "cut back" and some employees will be facing a lay-off.
