Lifes to short to even look at them. I drive at the speed I consider safe, different speeds in different states, in AZ, NM, TX I see alot of 75 and 80 or so, but also depends on the load, sometimes Im happy 60-65. They can go around does bothwe me either way. Life is just to short to give them even a thought.

 

Consider it a slow day if I don’t get told I am number one at least a few times a day.

Getting the finger is a very rare thing for me and that makes me wonder what those who see it frequently are doing wrong?

 

I don't remember getting the one-finger salute that much either. Generally, I got it if I reacted to them being stupid. I can't remember where but I was parked in a pickle park taking a break. As I was leaving a Swift driver pulled out in front of me short enough that I had to hard brake. In anger, I laid down on my horn. She gave me the one finger several miles down the road as I was passing her.

 

Much of what I see is people do something stupid like cutting someone off because they aren’t watching thier mirrors and cut left forcing traffic to brake hard. Then when the person they cut off finally gets beside them they get the one finger salute and think they did no wrong and wonder why.

Bigger hills and mountains are an other place I see it. Truck in middle lane can’t gain on truck in right lane. Truck charging up behind won’t have enough space to go around on the right ( truck in middle pays no attention ) truck coming much faster from behind goes left to pass in an effort to hold momentum and passes. Salutes the monkey in the middle as he does so but as he goes back to the center the car he just forced to slow dramatically in the left salutes him/ her as they pass. at least the one who cut to the far left knows he did something but I wish the car driver would salute the monkey in the middle as he passed him as well.

Morning starts I see it a lot right before the truck stop. Trucks seem to think they can just keep right on rolling from the ramp which is designated as STOP not yield. Traffic is very light but the truck drivers just want to pull out or keep rolling even with more than enough visibility to see no traffic coming for over 1/2 mile behind that one car both directions BUT they just bully thier way out and force 50 mph traffic to brake to a crawl while they do 5 to 10 up the hill to the truck stop then can’t seem to figure out how to effectively enter the truck stop holding them even more. They get the salute, I have seen them confronted in the truck stop while making thier coffee, driven by at the pumps and saluted. Almost each time the truck driver responded with I did nothing wrong, confused looks as if they had no clue.
Proof of being a bully for me is they won’t cut out on me as I approach because I’m in a truck but if I leave my truck at the yard and drive the wife’s car I get cut off everytime.

Last week rolling along waiting on a truck moving at a much faster pace to get by me before passing the truck in front of me. Approaching an exit ramp with clearvisability right on to the empty on ramp that followed with two cars not even slowing on the highway in front of the truck that I was following. Both cars signaled to exit right as they were at the beginning of the long smooth ramp, the truck coming faster in the left was about half way up my side and clearly visible in the mirrors of the truck ahead does he hold steady? No he signals enough for his flasher to flash once, cuts left with no acceleration but brake instead forcing that truck beside me to brake hard to avoid slamming him. The cars were out of the picture so fast because never once did anyone see a brake light from, them that I could have just hit the go pedal and went right by the truck that cut left. Instead I backed off just a tad and waited to see what numb nuts would do next. As I did the truck passing me leveled off beside looking at me in disbelief. I gave him the universal signal implying I would like to slap the other driver upside the back of his head which in return got a smile!
Once he finally got back to the right lane the guy that was passing finally got by and I followed behind. Listening on the CB I know he got flipped off as he passed because I heard him question it asking why!
Yep he was so oblivious that he was following too close that it caused him to be panicked at the ramps, change lanes unsafely, brake when he should have accelerated and then hold the left for an extended period when he wasn’t even going the f- ing speed limit to begin with. Wonder how many times he gets on here and complains about being given the one finger salute?

Be an ### get a salute! Figure out what you did and learn how to curb that behavior. Traffic will flow freely and you won’t get that salute nearly as much
