I don't have good credit(actually no credit) and I want to lease a truck with a company. Can someone tell me a good company to start with so I can build my credit and put as little money down.

Stay a company driver, build your credit and bank account up.

Right now… I’d wait. All these tariffs lots of places closing and freight is cheap. Seen some on dat for 1.10/mile

Some lease deals the trucking companies don’t even check your credit because they don’t report anything to the credit agencies. They don’t care at that. They charge so much every week all care about is you making the payment to them.

They buy the truck and you pay them. So it possible they actually make money on the truck. Remember when if they tell you they don’t have any good paying loads you don’t like that week you still have to make the truck payment. Maybe the good paying load is going to NYC. Have fun on that trip. Plus you have pay the $500 in tolls to get to Brooklyn or Queens. If you get load to Manhattan that even more problem because you not allowed in Manhattan with 53 foot trailer but the people still want you to deliver there. You pay that ticket if the cops stop you and it’s about 5 different tickets. It’s kind of a joke because they expect you to take a regular trailer even though it not legal.

You might want to try trucking to see if you even like it first. In my opinion they are selling a dream on leasing a new driver a truck. When the truck in in shop for repairs you still have to make the payment. Not sure if you know this but these new trucks break down a lot. Sometimes they can’t even get the parts. It might take 3-10 days just to get an open spot at a repair shop.

I drove company for a few years and now that I am wanting to get back into trucking I thought it would be a good idea to start with a lease. I don't know how the tariffs affect the trucking industry but thinking about that I think it would be best to just be a company driver again and then look into leasing a truck or outright buying a truck.

Rates are disaster, don't do it.
Too many trucks out here and gonna be even less loads now thanks to tariffs.
