yes more than likely on the first question.....both parties were guilty of a few things, if I knew then what I know now !!

and I'm taking a break from it now, I refuse to drive slow trucks or stay out on the road for weeks on end anymore so my options are pretty limited.....being an ex-o/o and having worked for one in the Landstar system for the last 7 years has me used to doing things and running a certain way......bottom line is I wouldn't last more than a week with a JB, Werner, Schneider, etc. I just wouldn't put up with it..

    LOL

I'm burnt out from it (my own fault from running too hard for so long), my outlook on the industry isn't a good one right now !! ha ha

With regards to companies downsizing: Any business will need to make adjustments, if needed, to keep themselves in a profit mode, or the very least, break even. So you see companies closing locations, laying off people, putting off buying new equipment, not hiring new people at this time etc. Just selling off 25 trailers, for instance, could raise $500,000 in quick cash. (late model refers). You will notice sometimes companies bringing in "new management".

Agreed . Werner made a smart move downsizing . They are getting more revenue per mile . Now explain why a company with a 10% smaller fleet is constantly hiring inexperienced drivers .

Just a thought but could it be that good, experienced drivers know better than to jump from the frying pan into the fire?

Close . More like newbies jumping in then jumping out when they can't take the heat . Then another one jumps in , jumps out , and so on .

We want to get into Team Driving trucking and have visited Southwest Truck Driving School in Las Vegas. Do any of you have any experience with Southwest and also what companies would you recommend for pre-hire? Any help or suggestions would be so appreciated!:biggrin_25520:
