Not in every state theres not a law most of the western states its Sept through May... I rarely ever get east of the Mississippi River so I really don't care or know the chain laws for Communist East America

 

I'm laughing out loud realizing how this must have read. Tim Horton's got Bieber to pick some flavours so they could make some special Timbits (donut holes) and call them Tim Biebs. Or as the rest of Canada calls them...Bieber Balls.

 

In the US, only if you're running west of Kansas (as a rough guide) are you required to carry chains.

Where I run, if I need chains, I done messed up several hours previous.

And if I had to carry chains, I'd stop training as there would be no room on the truck for the trainee. Inverter takes up half of one side box with oil, coolant, washer fluid, wheel chocks (automatic), hammer, broom, air hose, extension cord taking up the rest. Other side box has the tool bag, parts box, triangles, tow strap, and spare boots. Wrench/socket set get wedged between the mattress and the access door. Under the bunk is the a/c unit and bunk heater (no storage). APU sits where the chain box used to be. All the beeps and boops and "I'm sorry Dave, I can't let you do that" of modern equipment suck, but the worst part is every newer model has less and less storage space. In a Century class I could get all my tools, CA legal chains, 2 weeks of season appropriate clothes plus a week of off season clothes, a change of bedding plus an entire spare set for the trainee (including pillow), food for two weeks and STILL have the upper cabinet on the passenger side free for the trainee.

I’ve seen plenty of them hanging in front of the drives and some hangers installed on the mudflap .
I’ve even seen some hangers that slide in and out
