I'm with ridgeline on this. The only way I've ever seen it done is if a small fleet is working under a bigger fleets authority they want to keep their name on the truck. I could have operated by"special k trucking" on the door because the plates/ownership/ truck insurance are in my name but have "leased to ridgeway trans" on the bunk because I'm running under his authority and cargo ins. Maybe I'm 100 per cent wrong but l dont think so. If l am theres a ton of other people doing it wrong also.
If I lease onto a company can I still use my company logo and name on my trucks along with theirs

I tossed this very thing around myself. Operated by goes above the company with the authority. As someone else stated, I decided to keep it simple and not put my name on the truck as of now.

Funny you can post the actual regulaton from the green book and people on here will still argue with you about it lol. Just because you see it all the time a certain way doesn't mean that it's done correctly by the regulations.
I have seen big companies like Western Express out here that have their signage wrong. The next time you see a Western Express truck look and see if it is a leased operator and says "leased to: Western Express". Thats an easy gotcha ticket waiting to happen. It just hasn't caught any DOT cop's eye yet.
You may have "operated by: your LLC here" while being leased to a company. That's wrong. You may never get wrote up for it but it's not in compliance with the regs and you might pay a fine because of it.
You may think that is crazy federal marshalls talk but I remember guys at my previous company got tickets for "DOT # 123456" instead of "US DOT # 123456". Which I laughed at but I updated my signage so I wouldn't get one too.
Whatever company the original poster is leasing on with may have their own policy regarding this beyond the actual regulations anyway. They may tell him he can't put his company name on there.bulldawg trucker, thaistick, spyder7723 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Good friend of mine has his company name on the side as well as the company he's leased to. I just don't see the point of it myself, unless you have plans of going out on your own and want your name out there for some kind of future recognition there's really nothing to be gained from it.
