then he can get sued for vandalizing equipment. if going to court over dumping dirt, i cannot see any judge siding with him......that's gotta be like willful harm/destruction.....great dumb advice from you

1099 jobs can be OK. Get somebody good and you don't have to hear stuff like 'and after a year you get a week off!'

As I said, I was put on probation for recording a noise. Turned out a drive tire got a flat spot from a tow truck.
The rest of it, I have music, audiobooks and podcasts on my phone. I can't, won't sit there all day with nothing more than the interstate to occupy my mind. I know, who does that? Nobody does that- only me... -

For short term gain, a person forgoes the protections of state labor boards, workman's comp protections, and federal SSA benefits.

If company not paying you that is likely one person pulling the stunt, failing to enter your miles etc to payroll as their books must balance.
I once had employer fail to pay..I went directly to his home and collected cash., every circumstance is different but to walk away is not me,,,take a dollar from me I’ll take $10 back by hook or by crook -

It remains to be seen who gets assistance from state labor mediators, if any in the state of Florida.
Never collected workman's comp so I don't know about that, either
I'm paying self employment tax (social security).
A couple shared their experiences and I thanked them for it. Shall I add you to the whiners with your panties in a wad because the 1099 is the easiest way for a small fleet owner to add employees, the IRS isn't worried about it, and a driver might find more flexibility pertaining to things like time off or no driver-facing camera?
