Glad you're easily entertained. That's how I got my deposit back from my landlord. That na-sty letter he sent me? He didn't expect me to forward it to his two other tenants. Told me he'd send the money just stop texting his tenants. Worked for me.

1099 jobs can be OK. Get somebody good and you don't have to hear stuff like 'and after a year you get a week off!'

As I said, I won't have a driver facing camera again.

you cannot compare the 2 situations, as they say.."apples to oranges".

again, at the age of 60, you should have known better, and it makes me wonder if he's got you on camera doing something...??

like dozing off? texting while driving.??

But wait! I did. I did compare them.

As I said, I was put on probation for recording a noise. Turned out a drive tire got a flat spot from a tow truck.

The rest of it, I have music, audiobooks and podcasts on my phone. I can't, won't sit there all day with nothing more than the interstate to occupy my mind. I know, who does that? Nobody does that- only me...

You can dispute anything on your DAC. DAC (Hireright) is considered to be the same as any credit reporting agency and they have to follow the same procedures. If you dispute they will be require to check it out. Even if it stays on there you are allowed to put your own statement there so prospective employers can judge for themselves

Small claim court has ton of info online. Read your state's actual web site, not some article from Money or Reddit summarizing 50 states.

For short term gain, a person forgoes the protections of state labor boards, workman's comp protections, and federal SSA benefits.
Then after they get the shaft, they complain when relief suggestions are offered.

If company not paying you that is likely one person pulling the stunt, failing to enter your miles etc to payroll as their books must balance.

I once had employer fail to pay..I went directly to his home and collected cash., every circumstance is different but to walk away is not me,,,take a dollar from me I’ll take $10 back by hook or by crook

. So much ignorance in one little post.

Tell us more about this 'short term' gain, especially with an industry turn over rate around 100%

It remains to be seen who gets assistance from state labor mediators, if any in the state of Florida.

Never collected workman's comp so I don't know about that, either

I'm paying self employment tax (social security).

A couple shared their experiences and I thanked them for it. Shall I add you to the whiners with your panties in a wad because the 1099 is the easiest way for a small fleet owner to add employees, the IRS isn't worried about it, and a driver might find more flexibility pertaining to things like time off or no driver-facing camera?
