If you could do it all over again....

Well none of the major companies !
The best i have ever worked for was an manufacturing company called milguard manufacturing paid per hour. Excellent benefits. 12 days vacation. Home every other to every night. When i was overnight i was put up in an hotel/motel. Had an corporate credit card to pay any and all expenses. Paid meals morning, lunch and dinner. The equipment was well maintained and fairly new.
If you are talking about strictly otr companies..... None come to mind.

 

If i had it to do all over again..

I would join the French Foreign Legion

 

After twenty eight years I believe the best company I ever worked for was a small private carrier that hauled their own products: boats! We hauled 20 to 50 ft recreational boats all over U S and Canada. made good money ,but the best thing about the company was they treated us so well all meals paid, all snacks paid any chrome for truck paid motel anytime we wanted. Also got to see a very different side of trucking i:e high end resorts and marinas places that most truck drivers never get to expierence. But boats are the first indication of an ailing economy and so the story and job went. But when times are good these jobs in specialized transport are sometimes a hidden gem if you find one it can be a very satisfying and rewarding career.

 

If I would have to do it all over again I would have stayed with the company that originally hired me out of school, Florida Rock and Tank Lines. I would be hauling gas at night which is what I do now but would be getting experience pay to boot. Oh well if only what I know now I knew then. I guess it was one of life's many lessons.

 

Would have went to school for something Else, maybe stay in college and get a degree

 

I have all five with my first company. Finally got a lucky break in life and got the best thing. I seriously cannot think of a better company. I guess Walmart trucking may be better. I do know the other big names do not pay as much, less miles, less hometime. One time I forgot something minor at my house and asked if I could go back home 600+ miles away and they got me home the next day. I even asked for a seven days off and was granted without question.
