If I could have a reincarnation of life,I would have gone the heavy equipment route and probably gotten into the ne teamsters local 4. I had the chance when I came out of the army in 68 to do just that. I worked for a big construction company, learned dumps then loboys and hauling long pipes on a pole trailer with a crane on the truck, very well could have taken up backhoe, front end loader or dozer, been home at night, but trucking hasn't really hurt me much, and I still like it. As far as you teaming together,You and her could be happy as two larks doing it on the road with everything to gain and nothing to lose. Please keep us posted. thks for inquiry.

Since I am not making my minimum weekly amount of house appraisals, last night I went ahead and submitted on-line applicant to Robertson's
Ready Mix here in town. Not interested in cement mixers. Want to drive their tandem bottom dumps, which are Class A vehicles. They sorta do what Schneider National does regarding training. They pay $8/hr during the training program and, like Schneider, they have approval from DMV to license drivers who complete the program. After training, the bottom dump guys are paid on a per load basis, while the cement mixer guys starat at $13/hr, going up to $19/hr. Since I have a Masters Degree it will be interesting to see if they say no, that I am overqualified.

    But
the pay after the $50.00/ day 6 week training is lower- your assigned tractor-, still paying off my credit cards. But never had accident, and just try hauling 40,000 pounds up those NE mountains on two lane roads

I don't know. There are too many factors that I'm not aware of that could be in play.

I sure would do it again! Driving has taught me a lot about myself and I have learned a whole bunch about humanity in the process.

I only intended to drive for 1 year but this month is my 7 year anniversary.

I wouldn't do it again if I had children. My biggest regret? Not finishing my bachelor degree before I started driving.

The thing in driving I would do different? Not change companies, stay teaming with my husband. I miss him.

Hubby is also a driver? Why don't you go back to team driving with him?

We're going back to team driving in 3 months. :smt008

Right now we're doing a favor for our supervisor and then....well then....:sex:

Oh, sometimes I am so bad...We took a break because of some problems but they are being worked out rather nicely
