    Possible motive could be this:
    1)
to cost a truck driver his or her CDL so that he or she cannot ever drive a truck or other commercial vehicle for a living
    2) a form of blacklisting, which is outright ILLEGAL

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

The absolute sheer driving force of our national economy - without truck drivers, our entire national economy would come to an absolute standstill - if not outright be dead.
Over the mountains, through the woods, into the valleys, coast to coast, from sea to shining sea - truck drivers can and do go anywhere and everywhere, every day, every night, all year round.

So, I was in a lengthy back and forth with these guys, and here is what I learned.
    1. They do have driver facing cameras.
They are mandatory. The recruiter said that they turn on for 10 seconds if you have a sudden stop, or hit the rumble strips on the side of the road.
Also, he said that they made sure you weren't eating or anything as well, which would tell me that they watch more than what they were telling.
    2. If you "Go out of route" they will take funds from your check.
I asked for clarification about this. The recruiter said that if I was driving to my aunt's house, 40 miles out of range, then this would apply.
I then purposed a scenario if, when driving a route, I would need to go out of route to avoid major traffic, or an accident.
The response was that you would need to contact your driver manager to discuss changes. You also have to fuel up EXACTLY where they say.
    This tells me two things:
    A. You are not the captain of your ship. You cannot make decisions based on real world conditions, instead you have to rely on the judgement of an individual sitting in an office.
    B. They don't want a thinking driver. They just want someone to hold a wheel while they make decisions based on their bottom line.
    3. The per diem that you can't opt out of.
$.16 cents of EVERY MILE DRIVEN, goes to some per diem thing that the COMPANY controls. If you think for a minute that I'm going to trust a company to manage MY MONEY in my best interest, then I have beach front property in Arizona to sell you, my friend.
Let's just say for a second that the per diem is on the up and up.
One major point they kept trying to drive home, was that per diem wasn't taxed.
Well that's nice, until you have to file taxes and have to find an accountant to sort all forms you have to fill out.
87000 IRS agents that just got hired aren't coming after the rich...
No, I'll control my own money, thank you.
    4. The fuel bonus/car winning joke.
New drivers, if they have a fuel bonus or anything other than a safety bonus... You should not factor that in as part of your pay.
More times than not, they want you to sacrifice things like personal comfort (idling) and speed to go through almost impossible hoops that, in the end, help their bottom line and occasionally your pay check.
Do not expect anything extra from a fuel bonus program. Then you'll be pleasantly surprised if you do get something.
If you pay me decently and fairly, I'll be able to afford my own car.

So, I hope this helps someone.
(Fair disclosure, I have never driven for this company, nor even attended orientation. I researched all the comments that I could find online and applied the research in speaking with the recruiter. DO YOUR RESEARCH. I can't emphasize this enough.)

@TB John Honest TB, I'm thinking, if you pursue this new venture, you will have to spend numerous dinero to change all your literature, and all your letterheads. Ya know, those 3x3 Post It notes you have, that say.......

"From the desk and office of Honest TB, CEO, and CHIEF operating officer, and company shill, of the company geared, and steered by, none other than the man, the myth, the legend, a man among men, the man known worldwide as Mi Amigo, the company known world wide, by one and all, BYOB&CBD,

would have to be changed to.....

Is there enough room to do that?

I read this and it seems like it was just yesterday that happened. Then I realize another five years has gone by since I thought about retiring from truck driving.

Driving a truck is like shooting heroin... just don't start.

I had no problem quitting Trucking:
1st was getting off the Dedicated O.T.R., NC - GA - TX turns, by quitting that company.
2nd was getting away from Local dedicated routes through driver services, after a coupla years.
3rd was allowing my CDL-A to lapse back to a C.

I PREFERRED TRUCKING with Nicotine and Caffeine, now it's just Caffeine and Nicotine and soon just Caffeine.

    MVT was NEVER an interest.

Lol He was probably adding his own fuel up to the half the cost of the Harley he won throughout the year. Figured he’d get the Harley for half price. Either that or he got all them light loads for the entire year.
