I've tried this avenue too when I talked to Great West because I wanted to know how they determine exactly what's "market value" and what is not. They said there is no blue book so to speak for older equipment.

Truck trader is your best bet there. It will get you in the ball park of actual real world value.

I know truck paper tracks every sale but their data lags behind a bit when things are moving up or down quickly. So, like professional noticer said do some browsing on your own of asking prices to get an idea.

What did you put down on the new trucks? Also what are you doing for your trailers? I was gonna do my trailer for 60K I think. Right now I have it at 45K

Very true with collector/hobby cars and trucks too. People fail to update them as well and end up getting blue book value which is way way less then private market or auction worth.

There is a collector and older equipment version that most non collector type agents just don’t want to use it. My ‘67 Pete in the avatar is listed as 25k in book but it is worth mucho more then that.

Thanks. They mentioned going that route but they themselves could offer no sort of started value coverage at all. I'd definitely have to take your path if I decide to pursue the issue.

Has anyone considered getting an official apprasial on something that is worth a lot to you? You’d be surprised at what you can get something valued at. Not a truck but a recent example for us was my wife's grandmothers original ‘65 Galaxie. Blue book is around 15-20k. Appraisal that insurance company accepted was for 125k.
