I know some companies that offer this will treat the truck like a company truck and cover all repairs even if it exceeds your maintenance account. But that means only getting work done at their shops and what they approve. Personally I would rather have control over my money...but I think this may be why it's a non refundable account.

Are you suggesting it's non-refundable, so they make sure you're keeping up the truck, and therefore have no incentive to hold back on repairs?

No. Not quite...:more like you won't see repairs come out of your pocket but in return they only fix what they approve of. I did a lease like that once,..it gives you peace of mind if you have a failure then you are covered but at the same time you aren't getting brand new tires either when you need new ones.

There are two leases. I am doing the Premium one which is a newer truck and slightly higher payment with $.06/mile to the maintenance kitty and has a financeable balloon at the end to be determined by retail market value. The one you are referring to gets you a much older truck yes twice the maintenance deduction but a $1.00 buyout at the end. All of this info is on the web site for the reading. After ten years in the car business I know my way around a lease.

No you don't get the money back, it's more like maintenance insurance. Yes you have to go through them for any needed repairs. No you don't have total control of the money.

So???? Owner ops still have to put out money from their pockets. Believe it or not, there are people out there who know the real deal about recaps and aren't afraid of them despite what happened to your brother's ex wife's cousin. Owner ops who still owe money on their rigs still have to make their payments on time or the nice man from the recovery company will knock on their door. Owner ops who can fuel wherever still need to pay for their fuel on the spot. Does anybody really have 100% control of their money? I am willingly giving up some control in exchange for additional support so I reiterate: So????

To answer an earlier question, AQ stands for ######### Quotient. This is the ratio of thinking, rational people whose lips don't move when they read and can do their jobs with a modicum of common sense to the mouth breathers who seem determined to ruin things for everybody.

These are the ones who force companies to enact and enforce policies that seem asinine but are merely said companies protecting themselves from stupid things the aforementioned troglodytes do.

Sorry if I came across as grouchy; I'm a little crabby because not much sleep last night. No apparent reason, just one of those occasional brisk bouts with insomnia we all get from time to time. My posts stand. So there.

Yeah. Man. All I was doing was trying to explain what the deal with tag type of lease was and you all went and hurt my feelings.

I'm telling my mom on you. Be afraid.

Don't tell him that. Now he's going to go all manic on Five NIghts at Freddy's, and we'll never see him again.
