Go to your doctor and list off the sleep apnea symptoms that you are experiencing (tired during the day, snore, wake up multiple times during the night..), and he will refer you to the sleep study clinic. Often, insurance will decline things the first time around; if you submit it a second time they know you are serious.

Denied it three times. I did what you said. I have been trying this about a month. I can't even get a dang permit to even give me a fighting chance.

Doc won't appeal it? It's bizarre they won't approve it, I remember from your other thread that you're a big guy. Sleep apnea is serious, if you have it.

The doctor approved it, but the insurance did not.

If you have insurance at factory job try going to your approved doctor. Then he can send you to a sleep doctor then if the sleep doctor say you need sleep test insurance should pay for it. Then once you can go back for the d.o.T physical

They do have some home sleep apnea test now I think they are like $500 or but if you have it then you still have to get the CPAP machine it would be nice going thru insurance so they could pay for most of it. CPAP machine are $800 then a mask it like $140

I have an honest question, there is like a 100,000 driver shortage I read the other day. Why in the world does the government and everything else make it so outrageously hard to get into trucking? The strict physical's, the expensive schools, the expensive tests and not to mention I imagine they are harder than heck to pass. It is crazy. No wonder there is a shortage and the jobs are being taken by Eastern European immigrants.

Tried all of that. The insurance denied it three times.

I'm seriously thinking about giving up on this trucking dream and going to school to be a machinist. This career is ridiculously hard to get into nowadays.
