One day I tried cruising on the left lane just to see why some people do it. I find it quite fun actually.

When I see a super trucker on my right, I turn my right signal on but never move from the left lane. It’s hilarious how some sit there for 10 minutes thinking if I’m going to do a lane change.

Tanker drivers are never the ones that get on my nerves i dont think i can ever remeber a tanker driver that wasnt a very good driver... Its always the big box mega reefers or the turbon heads with their pet goat in the passanger seat hogging the left lane . or sitting 3 inches off ur back bumper and then takes 15.7 miles to pass you when he eventually does get in the left lane.. Or the guys that blow ur doors off then grt in front kf u and slow down.. Its alot of disrespectful drivers out there. Dont think ive ever met a tanker that did dumb stuff its always the frickin big box morons

At the same time if its a 3 lane highway and there is no left lane restriction for trucks and traffic is not heavy or there is very little truck traffic i will cruise in the middle . . if its alot of truck traffic i will stay to the right where my slow truck belongs.. But the middle lane is generally the best place to be , the best flow usually in light traffic.. But if ur impeding faster trucks or just clogging #### up get in the right lsne for christ sakes. Dealing with mergers is not that hard with a slow truck just be patient and time the gaps in the merge lane the best u can.. I find that making the mergers make a decision is better than trying to slow down or speed up to find the best place.. For example lets say theres 3 cars merging. If theres a good half truck length between car 1 and car 2 , i will try my best to time the gap behind car 1 and put my truck and basically block car 2 from merging they can either speed up or slow down. I find that works better than say slowing down to lrt all 3 cars merge in front or try to speed up and pass because really no mstter what u do the 4 wheeler will always do the opposite so i find the best way is to make them make a decision based on where u put ur truck. If they dont make a decision they are hitting the shoulder and thats their fault because they dont have the right of way..

The other thing that has become a rampant problem like D.Tibbit sair is the morons who can't merge onto the #### freeway. All of a sudden people are slamming on their brakes at the end of the on ramp and stopping.

The blantant stupidity of people I think is reaching a critical point. Unfortunately I dont think its gonna be stopped.

If we're talking three lanes, that center lane will always be the lane of least resistance for my tanker. If there's a lot of traffic, I'll do my best to stay in the right lane for you, but if not, you can find me in the center for the reasons @tscottme mentioned. I apologize in advance to any of you guys that I might piss off. I will always try to avoid four wheelers and their interesting merging techniques; it's just not worth the risk.

I have a difficult time with folks hanging in a left lane when they should move over to the right. I lived in Germany for several years and learned most of my driving attitudes and techniques from there. There are 2 things you do not do on German Autobahns. 2. You do not pass someone on the right. You simply do not do it! And, #1. you move over to the rightmost lane your speed allows. That is so ingrained in my driving it still feels like pulling teeth without anesthesia to have to pass someone on the right because they are too …. whatever..... to change into a right lane on the highway. You can and WILL get a hefty ticket for passing on the right in Germany, but you'll get a bigger ticket for NOT pulling into a right lane when you can. (That is part of their system of no speed limits and part of the important dynamics of how to manage traffic traveling at significantly different speeds on the same road at the same time.)

Slower traffic keeps right. It is ingrained into their driver training and rules. If you want to make tracks, go ahead and get into the left lane. But, watch out behind you. I don't care if you are doing 110mph, in the blink of an eye, you will have a Mercedes or BMW on your bumper flashing their lights at you signaling for you to move over and let them pass! BTW, I know that from first-hand experience. But, it is pretty cool to be going around a bank curve at 110MPH 3' off the back of a Mercedes Bumper flashing your lights for him to move over!!! (I was the one in the BMW). Couldn't get away with that in the United States. It is just too different here in that respect.

The I-5 on the west coast is a cluster F of Canadian truck drivers with colorful head scarves, tailgating, hogging the hammer lane, speeding up when passing, and just general douchebaggery. Then they go into the bathrooms at all of the truck stops with their little water bottles, and leave a complete mess in the stalls.

Yeah, and some say trucking hasn't changed. I don't know why it's so hard to point a finger at the cell phone, the "smoking gun" for all the things you stated.
