Any words of advice before i just take off to jim palmer or prime.
like what i should say to the recruiter on the phone.
is there any negotiating with them or are there set rules for paying you
    x amount here etc.

I'd ask, "When can I get started?"
There's not really any negotiating. They'll send you information on the school and what to bring with you.
All 3 companies will train you well because that's some real expensive equipment you'll be driving.
They also all have online applications. You can submit those before you call and it will save some time, because when you do call, you can say, "I'm checking on my school application and want to ask some questions."
This doesn't obligate you to either company.

Hey Chinatown we're practically neighbors. Any thoughts on the driving schools here in Vegas? I am ready to make the jump but can't get a good read on the schools here in the valley based on online reviews. Thanks for your input!

    @lakemeader
Southwest seems to be good. The state uses them for state grants for student financial assistance.
The federal government uses this school for GI Bill for military veterans also.
Drivers that post on here that graduated there have good comments.
What type trucking do you want; I can give you some names.
The school has job placement also, but most schools usually just push 4 or 5 outfits.
I really like living here. I'm in a gated community so about the only traffic is people living here.

I was looking at Southwest and maybe DTR since its close to home. I figure I need to pay my dues for the first year so not sure what that means just yet but hopefully I can eventually drive on the west coast, also have family in Oregon.

I'm near Pecos & Russell and spend a lot of time in Henderson. Like living here as well but would love to get out of the valley in these blistering summer months.

    Thanks for your feedback!

There's not really any dues to pay. Some new drivers make bad choices and just say, "Well, I'm paying my dues."
Here's some companies to consider that will get you to the east coast and back.
    Freymiller
    Navajo Express
    Dynamic Transit
    Titan Transfer
    Contract Freighters (CFI) www.cfidrive.com
    Melton Truck Lines
    Butler Transport
Schuster - their big contract is Blue Bunny Ice Cream - coast to coast.
FFE (Frozen Food Express) - not sure they hire in Las Vegas, but worth a phone call. Good paychecks.
    Halvor Lines - dry vans/reefers/flatbeds
