Seems to me a single mother of 4 would be better off in a job other than OTR driver.

Really? In my first year of trucking, my wife decided to take an unpaid leave of absence from work to care for her dying father full time. I supported her and 3 kids on a trucker's salary. And the company I worked for was CRST.

No, I'm not worried because I have money put back, I'm not dumb, but I like to keep ahead of the game and I have started hearing things about them that is why I was asking. And, I can pay my tuition with no problem to get out from under contract. If all else fails, I have a job to go to in the Oil Field just don't want to move my kids.

Seems to be men can keep their #### in their pants too if they can't take care of the kids they make so us women don't have to go OTR. I have family to be there for them and I was working six days a week living on a chicken farm making crap for a check. I look at it this way, and take it how you please, I'm the one bringing in the bacon and until someone else is doing that for me they don't need to tell me what it seems I should do. Sorry, but you hit a nerve here buddy.

Well, you say that you can pay off the tuition and walk. I say give CRST 3 months and then weigh your options. That will be enough time to get you the OTR experience that you need to be able to move to another company, and it will give you a feel for what you'll be earning at CRST. If it's not what you need, then decide whether it will be more cost effective to pay them off and move to another company, or stick it out and complete the contract.

There are crude haulers and companies that operate vac trucks (dirty job, but probably cleaner than the chicken farm) in the Victoria, TX area that hire new CDL graduates, and pay hourly plus overtime. Not really close to home, but closer than an OTR job.

Just hang in there, you'll do fine. CRST is a bottom feeder, most reputable companies know this.
