If the OP lasts more than a year or two.....................I hope he has the cajones to own up to all the little bits of time that he learned to shave here and there.

    Stay tuned.

At first I too was trying to set the op straight about the ways of the real world. But after reading all of his posts, he's just out here tryin' to make a hand. He'll learn the advanced stuff in time I believe. Fact is, none of us walked before we crawled. If he doesn't learn to skirt the rules... well, prime is always hiring, and they do pay.... not much, but I've never heard of their checks bouncing.

Hope you learn alot from the new trainer and it's a better fit for you. Don't be a stranger and keep us posted. PM me if you need.

Instructors and trainers should teach the "company way" and--in this case--the legal way. We should all be able to decide for ourselves whether we want to make fudge.

Learning to hide a little time is not a moral crisis like some people on here like to preach. I ran pretty honest for the most part. Any driver on here that says he/she has been driving for any amount of time without a fudge here and there..............I wouldn't want them for a neighbor. I'd be getting a notices from my housing association for my grass being a 1/4" too high.

That's how I did it. First day was meet and greet. Maybe they drive for a few hours while I would observe. Shut down at night for a sit down meal that I paid for to get to know each other and let them know what I expected. Next couple days I went on, not driving in the jump seat. If I was comfortable with their abilities after a week I'd let the coordinator know to run us team. Usually left me with 4-6hrs sleep while off duty....plenty. The last few days they were on their own. Dealing with shippers, receivers, dispatchers they ran the show. That's when I would teach the 'this is what you can get away with' things.

Thanks for all your help. Every post I've read has been insightful, even if I didn't agree. Same for most on this thread. Funny you mention Prime as they're local to me. They were on my list just because of that but it's not who I chose.
