While dragging around a homemade lowboy I tore off 3 mud-flap.. Tore one slid the fifth wheel and fixed it then tore both sides off a couple of days later..... Vowing never to have to do this again I decided to go this route... Bought the 45 spring-loads for about $50 plus an extra set of hanger brackets. $12.... Installed them on the rear as normally would but put the extra set up in front of my quarter fenders... Pull the hair-pin clip and Just move them to the "SAFE" area when ever needed... No more busted flaps..
that's all we could run hauling scanners. SOme of them were built for single axle tractors and it gets hairy
yes indeed medicine man the lowboy i pulled in south fla was designed for a single screw tractor ,and this is why they moved the fith wheel plate back also, but my worries of failing an inspection with that plate like that wasnt even an issue,im signed on now and hopefully il get a load in the morn, spent the day at the trailer shop fixing someone elses stupidity
I think I told you before the plate on my pete was moved back like that. And every truck we bought at the medical company we had to have the plates moved back. it's not an issue at al
yes you did, medicine man, it was just me trying to be perfect lol but it seems my hard work on getting the truck ready has paid off, from the inspectoin i had a light go out and needed repair and my fire exstinguisher need to be mounted and that was all,but im watching alot of guys fail due to lighting and badly adjusted brakes ,and exshaust leaks, for the older trucks , and of course everybodys crying poverty cause they havent worked and the rates, but yet when they sign on they want to go home for the weekend ,ortheir exscuse is a problem with there truck, i dont get it, you signed on go to work!!!!!!
yup. welcome to trucking. that's your first leson in why you never make a deciion based on what some driver in a truck stop or on the comuter tells you. You just dont know which kind he is
Got to TA this morning for the tire. Went inside to do the paperwork, came out and truck wouldn't start, batteries dead after idling all night. Checked them out, first one had 1 cranking amp, the other two came up "replace" with 600 out of 760 cranking amps. So 3 new batteries. I was hoping this will solve my electrical problems, but I'm not so sure. It fires up stronger than it has in weeks, but the voltmeter still drops down towards yellow when I add headlights and A/C while the engine is running. The batteries had a decent charge on them even though it wouldn't start, so I don't really suspect the alternator. Has to still be a short somewhere. Hope I find it before it kills more batteries. The last ones were Jan to June 2008.
What was wrong with the tire that it couldn't be repaired? do you check your tire pressures at least every few days? I'm amazed your still in business.
