    Rob,
All the parts came in today for your truck, motor mount was the correct one, lower coolant pipe wasn't,.... figures. I went over to Kerns Truck Parts and dug through three dumpsters full of coolant pipes and found one that will work. So I now have what is needed to get your Pete back on the road. See you tomorrow.

A mechanic that is willing to be a dumpster diver to get the job done, gotta love that kind of dedication!

ok guys. i've read of TON of information on here. LOTS to absorb.

not trying to pry into personal business. but i was wondering if some of you could give me some round about numbers as to how much you all spent before finally hitting the road. not the total cost after everything is done but the basic of what it took to hit the road as an O/O. and how long before money started rolling in.

truck down payment, insurance, permits, etc. and of course fuel. how long it took for everything.

i'm just curious as to what it takes to get to where you all are at. not including the monthly nut for home. just what it took to hit the road. i'm trying to figure out the numbers so i can work out a plan.

any information would be greatly appreciated. THANKS.

I'm about ready to hit the road myself. Lots-o-paperwork and checks to write for this permit and that permit. Picked up my 2000 Freightliner Century just over a week ago. 10 miles down the Interstate and I get called in behind the scale for a DOT look-see.:biggrin_2558: Turned out to be a blessing in disguise as I know what needs attention (the little stuff that got overlooked when buying). No tickets issued. It's in for an oil change and annual inspection now. Hope to hit the road sometime next week (fingers & toes crossed).

Sorry, no intention to hijack this thread....I've been in major lurk mode....

Carry on and good luck Pharm...and everyone else giving it a go!!:biggrin_25517:
