"Idiot Proof" is a non quantifiable parameter, much like perfect... the closest you can actually get is "Idiot Resistant" and then only with a disclaimer limiting to 3 drooling idiots & 30 seconds or 30 feet.
I was riding in the truck since i was 5. I learned the streets on the truck. Ive been wrenching since i was 10 mainly on bikes. This summer i rebuilt a bike a relative brought said it was broken a week later there i was riding it. I love to get greasy i don't know why im just different. Dino we are alike we got truckin in our blood. Im not sure where i'll be when im 25 i might be truckin or not who knows. And by 18 i'll hopefully be in college studying to be around trucks and get paid.
That's what I was trying to explain last week. If the shifter is pushed into neutral and left there, many times the shifter will move left, shift into low range, and mess things up.
so in other words... ROb did break it... Sorry bud. SOmeone had to say it. lol it's better coming from a friend
Dino and Luis, First of all, I never EVER told you not to follow your dream. You should follow your dream. Always. You've both missed my point entirely. My point is this: Dont come here at 16 years of age and try to tell Rob he doesnt know how to shift a truck, then tell me you know about trucking, the ins and outs and so on. Trust me when I say this: 15 years from now, you are going to look back and LAUGH at how much you DIDNT know, no matter WHAT you decide to do. If trucking is your passion, GREAT!!! Mine was the Marine Corps, so I pursued it not once, but TWICE. But the fact remains, things DO change. Sometimes drastically. Like most, you will wake up some day in your late 20's and wonder just what the haydes happened to the direction you were going. Then you'll make every effort to correct the course. You will learn more about trucks. You will learn so much that you will marvel about how much you DIDNT know at the ripe old age of 16. Whatever you do, do it well. And I'll say this again, and clarify it: GET A COLLEGE DEGREE (B.S., B.A.), AND go to diesel mechanic school. You'll understand why I say that in a few years. I'll leave this OOR post with the following:
Again with that horse. And rant continued! Like i said i was just trying to cheer rob up i did not mean that why in the heck would i insult a man half my age on something ive barely even done i know better. I know the ins and outs break downs brokers company's screwing you on the percentage even at my age ive dealt with crappy chr Robinson. The list just keeps on coming these are thing's we have experienced me and my father it's just me and him. I've learned so much even with the small amount of knowledge of this industry in a year and i get contradicted on what ive been taught it's not like im telling people lies. I don't want to keep this pointless argument going but if you want to go ahead.
Jarhed, Don't worry about it.. Luis is young and just trying to find a way to fit in around here. By in large he's an alright kid. Didn't we know everything when we were 16? Hell, I wish I was still 16. I was alot smarter back then..
