**To estimate the number of hours that a refrigerator actually operates at its maximum wattage, divide the total time the refrigerator is plugged in by three. Refrigerators, although turned “on” all the time, actually cycle on and off as needed to maintain interior temperatures.

So would the suggestion be to get a pure sine converter that runs off of cigarette lighter?

It runs all of our stuff as well with the exception of this one item! I hear you on the hygiene out here. Kind of scary sometimes!

yes if you are just using it for a curing iron. i would just get normal inverter. i use my coffee maker on a normal inverter.

Thanks to all who responded. I have ordered a pure sine wave one. Will keep you posted on how it works out. Who knows — one of you may need a curling iron someday!!

I would strongly suggest you do not use a cigarette lighter to power an inverter (>300w). Hard wire it to your truck and make sure there is an inline fuse as close to the termination point as is possible.

Omg ... op, most curling irons draw 150 to 200 watts. Many inverters do not like inductive loads, which a curling iron is.

You should not have an issue with it with a new inverter that is wired up, something like a 500 watt inverter, pure sine of course.
