    You are so right Rollover. Picked up a wagon in Memphis one time with split air lines. The previous driver tried to patch the split with duct-tape. When this failed later down the road (two fresh flat spots on all 8 tires) the super trucker backed off the slack adjusters so the brakes would not engage and kept rolling. Don't know who he/she was, but somebody lost a payroll check over this bovine scat. :biggrin_25513:

    drop and hook is good if you like to turn&burn--but if you want to fatten up that paycheck--do ltl--its not for everybody--if yoou dont mind bumping 5 or 6 docks then driving--you can make more
    but like all good things this is going to be harder to do with new rules and tighter checks

    My last trailer swap I did was the first time that I got the better deal. Usually the driver did not bother to call in the repair when he dropped his trailer and when I got them, I of course took care of them.
    I was happy to see that The company addressed that very same issue.
    We have companies at all of our drop locations that will fix all of the problems. But they need to know there is a problem.

    I used to work at a flatbed carrier where it was all drop and hook at the yard. Now, I'm at a company where I've been pulling the same set of Super-Bs for 6 weeks, and I can attest that it's better to keep what you have, as long as you can.

    I load the load, no one else.

    I know what's wrong with the trailers, and will get them fixed.

    Therefore, I feel a lot safer out there.

    I prefer drop & hooks. Yes, you may have breakdown issues to address, and you may have to scale and adjust the tandems.
    But I only get $30 for a live load/ unload, and that only if it takes longer than 2 hours. Even if it takes 23 hours, only $30.
    No thanks, I'll take my chances on a drop and hook, at least I have the possibility of making some money!

    I have 2 trls that I alternate nightly, 1 I had for 2yrs and it was almost new when I got it and I kept it up. Unfortunately some one grabbed it when I was on vacation and left me a piece of crap that had a laundry list of stuff wrong. It took 3 days of live loading my other trl before the company sent a replacement:biggrin_25525: So in my case drop/hook and haul ### I have a 15 min turn around
