Yes, cut and paste, but like I posted, looks like some of them don't apply to interstate trucking so they're irrelevant.

The op is interested in North Dakota oil fields so he needs the tanker/hazmat. Sure doesn't need the "Livery" endorsement unless he plans to drive a horse & buggy around Central Park.

2 is better than none. Most of the endorsement test are pretty simple. If your in ND would definitely get tanks and hazmat.

Agreed, he would also be more versatile/employable with a DBLE/TRPL endorsement. Easy test. Just study.
Also, it's nice to have them done while in school so once you go off to work you don't have to go to home state and deal with the DMV. HAZMAT is the one that takes time, studying, and the finger printing/background check. Should be done during the second week of a 4 week CDL course so it's on your CDL when you graduate and get the hard CDL license. I did the air brake, DBLE/TRPL, tank endorsement when I got my learners permit on the first day of school. That just the way I did it .

Doubles and triples is basically just a rehash of the combination vehicles written test. I think most people who get that endorsement do it just because they can, rather than for any intention of actually pulling them.

Doubles and triples endorsement is quite necessary in the bulk transfer, construction, and LTL industries, be at home every night oppurtunities of CDL driving. Gotta have it. Quite an easy test. Why not? I did and now I use the my shower/toilet/bed every night. I like that. I'm funny that way. Did 1 1/2 yrs OTR and found it wasn't my cuppa tea. Just sayin'.

Easy test, so get the doubles/triples. Just never know when a good job might become available and those endorsements save the day. Many don't know Navajo has some dedicated doubles work.

    In Illinois:

    1. Air Brake

    2. Combination

    3. Passenger

    4. Charter Bus

    5. Double/Triple

    6. HazMat

    7. School Bus

    8. Tanker

You need a passenger vehicle to test for the school/charter bus

You also need the doubles and triples for heavyhaul. The jeeps and the stingers on a multi axle count as trailers.

It was suggested to me when I got my CDL back in 1999 to get all of them. A earlier post said the same thing. I have doubles/triples on mine ,but haven't pulled them. The tanker endorsement is now required to haul totes. Its a new rule that DOT put in place.
