Is it common or rare that you are late for a load?

You got a broaden your horizons, we're talking about a line of work that requires more than just driving the truck backing into a dock.

I've been late due to my own fault once. 2 hours behind because of an accident.
Dispatch called about an hour after my appointment time wanting to know why I was late and why I didn't call in so they could reschedule with the customer.
That's why it was my fault. I couldn't do anything about the accident or being stuck on the highway for hours but I could've called dispatch and let them know.
That's a lesson I learned. You're never really late if you communicate. Funny how well that sounds together lol
Anyway - got to the customer asap and they didn't even know the load was coming that day. No service failure but if they were to complain to my company I probably would've gotten one.

I've been late due to road closures and so on numerous times. I don't shut it down unless the roads are shut down. That happens more than I'd like. Just a few weeks ago I sat on 465 for 9 hours due to ice. #### happens.

I really don't want to reveal who I work for. The plan is to work for them for another year. Purchase my own truck, and give myself a raise, based on what is possible. The business plan and model is being created while I take the proverbial company driver beating.

In general, I personally show at least 30min. ahead of schedule.
