Is it just me or are young adults under the age of 25 just plain lazy?

Mobile phones made everything worse, now we have old men with headsets talking on the phone all day long for no important reason. Everybody is in a constant conversation and they need to shut up.

It’s basically a tether. I use mine for everything. Makes Trucking much easier. Would have never imagined. It has it’s downfalls. Unwanted phone calls mainly. Technology has definitely been plus fir the Independent.

the Bible says “the borrower is slave to the lender “

even thousands of years ago they knew that debt was almost always a bad thing.

my father pounded in my head that you didn’t borrow money for anything except real estate . not for cars, not for furniture , and especially not for lifestyle on a credit card that you couldn’t pay off every month .
I haven’t always abided by his advice but every time I haven’t , ive regretted it .

You just have to move further out or find a fixer upper that no one else wants , and learn how to fix it .
Real estate prices are 100% supply and demand .

Prices will come down, as more list their homes. Prices are also high due to low rates. As rates rise, prices come down. Payments the same. Prices can only go so high. Eventually they adjust to market affordability. Homes are still selling now, especially to existing home owners. All things being equal, they get a good price on their existing home. Others are buying to avoid high rent in certain areas. Historically the bigger the increase, the bigger the decrease in prices. The saying houses never go down simply isn’t true. It happens during every recession. Save now, and you’ll set yourself up to buy when the time is right. Soon thereafter the cycle continues, and you have equity. Money that would otherwise be impossible to save while paying rent. One weeks pay for a house pymt is a good rule of thumb. Though you may qualify for up to 1.5 weeks gross pay payment. Best not to do it, unless your sure the Markets going to continue to rise. It’s still a stretch. I’ve done it successfully once, unsuccessfully once. The second time wiped out all the profit from the first. You just never know. One little blip, sets off a recession. Now with my 3 rd house. I currently have more equity than I owe. I’ve had it for 11 yrs.

You have NO IDEA how much fun this is....... and what a perfect illustration the "anecdotal evidence" you are providing is to the OP's point.

Yup, I'm an immigrant, came here with basically nothing. English is my second language. I have no family in the US to give me a leg up. Yes, I completed an advanced degree, in this country, in what is not my native language. Yes, I own a successful business, even though I am legally blind in one eye and have limited vision in the second -- which sidelined me for nearly four years until that medical mess got stabilized. So, yes, I have LOTS of "advantages". The only advantage I have, or need, is that I KNOW the line of class and race warfare you are spouting is utter nonsense.

This thread needs to get back to it's original topic.
If it continues to be a brain measuring contest between the same two or three people it will be closed.

I usually just sit back and observe. We’ve had quite a few guys in the flatbed forum that were extremely young when they first joined. Early twenties. @stwik, @D.Tibbitt and @AModelCat come to mind. The average age of the flatbed forum has to be 50. These guys are under 30, and they seem to be a good fit with the older guys. None of the older hands refer to the younger hands as “millennials”, and neither old nor young point fingers at the other for the state that the world is in. I don’t think that you can generalize an entire populous based on their age. Our young guns bring their A Game every single day. Solid drivers. They do their job and take pride in their work. What more could anyone ask?

Now, I do have questions, in particular about all of this ‘alpha male’ BS. I’ve been in the flatbed forum for over a decade and I haven’t seen an alpha. To me, it was like that horoscope garbage where you read something and fell you have to behave a certain way. I would have written it all off as BS, but I made the mistake of going into Planet Fitness. ALL the guys in the gym had this DEFEATED/beaten into submission look to them. What in the blue blazes??? How does that happen?

If the argument is that 'x' group is perfect/abject failures because of X or Y or Z, the argument fails. That level of simplistic nonsense doesn't hold up long.
Likewise if a supposed solution is simplistic nonsense like "just move" as you spouted, that fails as well. My efforts to clarify just how complex the situation is has surpassed your attention span. And so it's time to walk away. I'd like to leave thinking it must be peaceful in your simple minded world but you don't come across as very peaceful. Too bad.

I actually have to think hard about the pay phones and lineups to use one at a truck stop. Thought we died and went to heaven when the discount long distance cards came around!!! How did we ever do it without google earth to check out receivers and shippers yards? Lol
