I don't know why this guy is keep on going against me, but this thread is a total legit question about staying out for long, I think I made this guy angry because I was talking about how the long hood trucks with small headlights are ugly in the other thread. He was very defensive about it.
I don't know who's that supremeguy he's talking about, he needs to chill out and dont be so angry and paranoid about everything. -
Mr Wesker, you can stay out as long as you want. It is your choice. Most people don't, but you are obviously not most people.

i'd say if you make it the first 6 month's there will be no next 6 month's, the reason the dispatcher was laughing was he's heard it before from other new drivers with nothing to keep them from not staying on the road.i say give it a shot what do you have to lose. when the wife and i drove team we'd stay out for 3-4 month's at a time and burn up the miles of course this was in 04-05-06-07 when freight was all you can eat and we made tons of money. but even though we stayed out that long we'd have to spend a long weekend out of the truck during that time once a month somewhere over the road to recharge our batteries. we'd pick say vegas and shut down and recharge so it wasnt as bad. believe me that bunk area gets smaller and smaller every week your in it. but hey i say go for it as long as you want to. See what the record is for longest continuos OTR without home time and try and break the record. your dispatcher will love you if you never request home time. good luck

The only reason you'd really have to stop is for truck maint. I could never stay out like that. I gotta come home every day. But good luck to ya! You should start a blog about it. What company do you work for ? You should get with one that can get you everywhere so you won't have too much repetition.

Like I said previously, I've stayed out for more than a year at a time, but that truck can get mighty small sometimes.
It was not unusual for me to take a 34 in a hotel. About once a month, I'd book 2-3 days at a nice hotel with pool, restaurant, bar...often in a nicer area, and take that reset there.
You can't live in the truck for a year or more at a time unless you're a mole. -
He is definitely Supremeguy.7122894003481 Thanks this. -
Man, I dont know even who that supremeguy is, am I like him in every way possible? Addiction playing video games and lottery? Stay out on the road for a long time?
