They did, they all had jobs. Have always had jobs. Having a car makes getting to that early start at the Donut shop, to make the Donuts much easier.

This is why I stay out 7-8 weeks. 3-4 days just isn't enough to get stuff done and have chill time for myself...and I live alone!!.

The benefit to that is the house is exactly the way I left it. No one living there to make a mess or break stuff. The $100-150 I save every month on the electric bill by turning off the AC is the cherry on top.

So, to be clear, you just want to have your job and no other adult responsibility? I don’t know of any life like that but one… If that’s what you want, then get divorced, abandon the kids, and move out of your home and permanently into your truck. Problem solved. Barring that, man up. You can rest when you’re dead.

Find some old retired guy looking for some projects to keep busy and make a couple bucks. I have an old guy who mows my lawn for $20 with his tractor & trimmer. If I do it myself it cost me $25 for fuel. It’s pretty simple math.

OP listed woman’s work. Wife restored a century home when I was doing long haul. I did only the electrical and plumbing, she did all the drywall, finishing, refinished all hardwood floors, double hung windows and a wood plank wall…kept her busy during the day while kids were at school.
Guess it depends on spouse,,,mine was no Prima Donna

the o/p never mentioned if his wife had a job, kids, or was in school herself..seemed to me he was only thinking of himself.

anyone publicly putting down or humiliating his wife, will never get any sympathy from me.

again, he was only concerned for himself......some "life partner" he is with her....

twelve25oh9 and Last Call Thank this.
