Is making turns the same as in a 4 wheeler or do you come to a "dead" stop?

If you're not in 6'th gear, out of 10, in the first 25 feet on the turn; you're not doing it right.

Alternatively, "Sure Wish I finished Training."

I think you can answer your own question. When was the last time you saw an 18 wheeler come to a stop before turning?

I hope you never have to follow him!

Not wanting to get this off topic but does Texas still have those every short exit ramps with a very sharp turn as they use too?

I've saw a few trucks that would have been much better off stopping at those turns!

The best piece of advise I ever got when I started driving was "look you are a truck driver now which means that you are never in a hurry to do anything everybody has to wait on you."

It changed my perspective on everything I did and never had a problem doing anything with the truck after that.

When making a turn in a semi, you need to plan your turn ahead of time. Some you have to swing wide just depends on the turn. But you can not make a turn as fast as a car does, that could cause a rollover.Just take your time and do it right.

To add to this you should get in the habit of taking every turn wide. That way you never cut it short.

Just put a "full to the rim" cup of scalding hot coffee between your legs, as long as you don't burn yourself, you're doing fine.

Remember, in a car, your butt is six inches off of the ground, in a truck, it's 6 ft.
