The internet at Pilot currently uses a mix of 3G and DSL depending on the location. New locations are being switched over to DSL all the time as we continue to move forward with the project. In general, depending on the amount of current users, the speed at a Pilot will be fast enough to watch Hulu or any web video.

As Bubba Mark described you can often achieve better results by pausing in the begging and letting it preload some of the video. This will help keep interuptions to a minimum.

I have no problem with Verizon I know the 5g limit sucks though I push it too the max almost everymont watching tv. Haven't really tried wifi much for tv use but the one that seems the best is the idle air wifi also if you hook up too it the land line on idle air is also fast i'll use it occasionaly but idle air gets pricey after awhile.

I'll give Pilot another try at a different location, it's hard to commit to more than an hour when you just can't rely on the speed. When my Verizon aircard is in a broadband area it's plenty fast, but when the dreaded "extended network" comes up I know it's slow. The VoQube is starting to look like a sound investment. I'd like to see Millenicom in action.

that's what i would do. when you think about it, 5 bucks for 24 hrs when you can watch a movie or 2 and browse the forums/web is a good deal IMO

I had AT & T. They told me the same story. Several times I ran into no signal. The first time was in McCammon ID. I had phone service, but the air card would not sign on because of roaming. They told me I would have to move the truck to Pocatello to get a signal. On the last leg of the trip on the way home, I stopped in Evanston, WY. It would kick me off every minute or two. Called them and they advised I was on a shared system, and it would continue to kick me off. I had full service.

I switched to Verizon as soon as I got home.

Verizon or ATT doesn't really matter for me, they both have the same 5gig ceiling which limits my capacity to watch television online. 5 gigs gets you about 20 hours of shows, which is probably okay for a week but not a month, I'm a junkie and I need help what can I say. Verizon charges $250/gig over the limit so it would basically be cheaper to just buy four air cards and get 20 gigs a month for the same price as one gig over the five gig limit.

What I do is pull the battery and do a complete power down, reboot the device and service/performance does often improve.

    TIP:
With the battery removed hold down on the power button for about 10 sec.It relieves the static charge in the device.
