More or less. It handy if you do ports or chemical tanker. But unless someone is saying you need it to be hired. Then save your money for something else
    like hookers n blow

Not having a twic doesn't keep you from going to ports ... no twic just means you'll have to wait for an escort.

I had a TWIC and in 3 years it was only used at one customer, twice. If you can afford the cost, get it. You can let it go later, assuming you think it will help get a job. Better to have it and not need it, etc.

Got one about 15 years ago and since the company pays for it I continue to renew it.
Supposed to be an identification card but everyone wants to see my DL anyway.

And I do secure military installations, refinery's, chemical plants and nuclear and coal plants but only one has ever let me enter unfettered w just a TWIC.
Better to have and not need imho.

I use mine weekly sometimes daily. I would lose a lot of money without it.

I use mine every week. Guys without them miss out on some cherry loads. And the company pays for my TWIC too.

I keep it in the truck, but for those super top secret military bases, I just show my military ID. The private at the gate usually gets very confused.

My TWIC card got me in the door at my latest gig....I'd say it was (apparently) a pretty good investment....:p :D :-D
